Privacy policy
How The Legacy Advisory Firm LLC collects, uses and protects personal information through this website, and the choices and rights you have. Last updated: November 7, 2026.
Who we are
The Legacy Advisory Firm LLC ("Legacy," "we," "us") provides tax, bookkeeping, payroll and advisory services to clients nationwide. Contact us about privacy at info@legacyfirmllc.com or 678-916-6704.
The short version
- We don't sell your personal information, and we never have.
- Nothing that tracks you (analytics, ad measurement or session recording) loads unless you click "Accept." If you don't choose, or you decline, none of it loads.
- We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as an opt-out.
- You can ask to see, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, and to opt out, at any time.
What we collect, where it comes from, and why
- Identifiers and contact details (name, email, phone, company): from you, when you fill in a form, book a call, email or call us. Used to reply, send what you asked for, hold calls and, only if you agreed, send follow-up emails or text messages.
- Mobile number and text-message consent: from you, only if you give a mobile number and check the texts-and-emails box on a form or booking. Used to send the texts and emails you agreed to. See "Text messages" below.
- Professional or business information (company, role, revenue range, what you need help with): from you. Used to prepare for your call and decide whether we're a fit.
- Booking details: collected by Microsoft Bookings when you schedule a call and shared with us. Microsoft's privacy terms also apply on its booking page.
- Internet activity (pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, device and browser type, general location from IP address): only if you click "Accept," through Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement and Microsoft Clarity. Used to improve the site and see whether our ads lead to booked calls.
- Server logs (IP address, pages requested, time): kept by our hosting provider, Netlify, for security and to keep the site running. This is the only information collected without your choice, and only because the site can't work without it.
We do not collect sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, health, precise location, race, religion or biometrics) through this website. Please don't send sensitive information through website forms. Clients share it only through our secure client portal under a signed engagement letter.
Cookies and tracking
- Before you choose: no tracking cookies, scripts, pixels or third-party fonts load. We store only your privacy choice in your browser's local storage, which is strictly necessary to remember it.
- The tools we use for tracking: Google Analytics 4 (site analytics), Google Ads conversion measurement (whether ads lead to booked calls) and Microsoft Clarity (heatmaps and session recordings, with form fields masked). Each sets its own cookies only after you accept.
- If you click "Accept": Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement and Microsoft Clarity load and set cookies. We don't use them to identify you by name, and ad personalization is turned off.
- If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal: we treat it as a decline. Google Ads measurement never loads, even if you later accept analytics.
- Change your mind anytime: use "Your privacy choices" at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop the tools and delete their cookies on this site.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who process it for us under contract and may not use it for their own purposes: Microsoft (email, scheduling, Teams), Netlify (website hosting and form submissions), RingCentral (phone calls and text messages), Anchor and Intuit QuickBooks (proposals, billing and payments) and, only if you accept cookies, Google and Microsoft (analytics and ad measurement). We also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, with notice to you.
Sale and "sharing": we do not sell personal information. We do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising or for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Ad-measurement cookies run only with your opt-in consent, and you can withdraw consent anytime.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:
- Know and access the personal information we hold about you, including the categories, sources, purposes and the service providers we share it with
- Get a copy in a portable format
- Correct information that is inaccurate
- Delete information we collected, unless the law requires us to keep it
- Opt out of any sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling (we don't do these, but the request is honored and recorded)
- Withdraw consent you gave earlier, including for email follow-ups and cookies
How to ask: email info@legacyfirmllc.com with the subject "Privacy request," or call 678-916-6704. We'll confirm your request within 10 business days and answer within 45 days (we may extend once by 45 more days and will tell you why). To protect you, we verify your identity by matching details you've already given us. An authorized agent may ask on your behalf with your signed permission. We charge no fee.
Appeals: if we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll answer within 45 days (60 days where state law allows). If you're not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
No discrimination: we won't deny service, charge a different price or give a different level of service because you used your privacy rights.
How long we keep it
- Website inquiries and form submissions from people who don't become clients: up to 24 months after our last contact, then deleted
- Booking records: up to 24 months
- Analytics data (only if you accepted): up to 14 months in Google Analytics; Microsoft Clarity keeps recordings for up to 30 days and summary data for up to 13 months
- Server logs: kept by Netlify for a short period for security
- Email opt-out requests: kept permanently, so we never email you again
- Text-message consent records (number, date, time, page and the wording you agreed to): kept for 5 years after your last text from us, as proof of consent
- Text-message opt-outs (STOP): kept permanently, so we never text that number again
- If you become a client, your engagement letter sets how long client records are kept, as tax and professional rules require
Client tax information
This policy covers information collected through the website. Information you give us as a client, including tax return information, is protected under your engagement letter, our written information security program, the federal rules for tax return information (we never use or disclose it without the consents those rules require) and the privacy notice clients receive under federal financial-privacy law.
Opting in to texts and emails, including promotional emails
When you check the texts-and-emails box on our website, booking page or a form, you agree to receive text messages and emails from The Legacy Advisory Firm at the mobile number and email address you gave us. These can include replies to your inquiry, appointment reminders, document requests and follow-ups, and promotional and marketing emails and texts such as service news, offers, tax-deadline reminders and invitations. Consent is optional and is never a condition of buying anything. We record the date, time, page and wording you agreed to.
- Promotional emails: every marketing email identifies us, includes our postal address and has an unsubscribe link. Click it, or reply "unsubscribe," and we'll stop within 10 business days, usually the same day.
- Without opting in: we email you only to answer you, deliver what you asked for or handle work you've engaged us for. Business contacts may receive occasional business emails, always with an unsubscribe link.
- Text messages: see "Text messages (SMS)" below for frequency, rates, STOP and HELP.
- Opting out of marketing doesn't stop service messages about work you've engaged us for.
Text messages (SMS)
What you'll get: if you give us a mobile number and check the texts-and-emails box on our website or booking page, The Legacy Advisory Firm may text you about your inquiry, appointment reminders and changes, document requests and follow-ups, and occasional news about our services. Some texts may be sent with automated technology.
- Frequency: message frequency varies.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any text at any time. You'll get one message confirming you're unsubscribed, and no more texts after that. You can also opt out by calling 678-916-6704 or emailing info@legacyfirmllc.com.
- Help: reply HELP, call 678-916-6704 or email info@legacyfirmllc.com.
- Not required: agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything from us.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Quiet hours: we don't send marketing texts before 8 AM or after 9 PM in your time zone.
Your mobile information stays with us. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text-message opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except our text-messaging provider (RingCentral), which uses them only to deliver our messages. This exclusion applies to every sharing category described in this policy.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on this site. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Children
This site is for business owners and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we don't sell or share anyone's information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already have, we'll ask for your consent first where the law requires it.
